Wednesday, November 19
Great Meadows NWR, Concord
Join us for our regular midweek exploration of the Concord impoundments at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. This trip will be oriented towards beginners, but as always anyone is welcome. Since the leader’s schedule is subject to change, check the Arlington Birds listserv for cancellations. Meet in the Great Meadows main parking lot off of Monsen Rd. Co-sponsored by Friends of the Assabet River NWR. 8:00-9:30 AM Alan Bragg.

Saturday, November 22
Plum Island in Fall
Did you know that November is the month that vagrant birds most often turn up along the coast? Join us to enjoy the red and gold colors of the marsh and observe the lingering egrets mingling with incoming ducks. No guarantees of any vagrants...we will just see what we find. Meet at Parking Lot 1 of the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Please note that there is a $5 per vehicle entrance charge unless you have a refuge pass or a Duck Stamp. 9:00AM-2:00PM Ann Gurka and Lew Bushnell.

Saturday, November 22
Fresh Pond Reservoir, Cambridge
This pond, which is part of the Cambridge water supply, is well known for the variety of ducks (both diving and dabbling) stopping here in fall. We have seen Canvasbacks, Redheads, Ring-necked Ducks, Ruddy Ducks, Mergansers, Grebes, and more! We may walk around the entire reservoir, so be prepared for a 2-3 mile walk on flat, prepared ground. Bring your scopes. Meet at the rear of the parking lot at the Burger King on Concord Avenue, near Neville Manor. 9:00-11:00AM. Janet Crystal and Nancy Guppy
