On April 4 I got an email from Lorraine saying she'd seen a kit for the first time. Last year's first sightings was almost exactly a year ago.The year before it was April 14, but the kits were older. Note this little guy's tail is slender, all black, versus 2002 kits with fuller tails with a white tip. When I saw him (gender not known, but I hate to call it "it"), he was playing with a favorite "toy," a very dead gray squirrel. As the kit was playing, Mom came up. I was hoping she might draw out some other kits, but it was only the one.
