I've seen the mother off and on, but I haven't seen the kits since May 4. Today I saw the mother at the third den above the concrete slabs.

She wandered down to the slabs, and I watched her for a while as she poked around.

Then there was another movement in the brush nearby, and a smaller fox peered out of the foliage.

Another one climbed over the rise, and a third came down the hill.

Mother with two of the kits. I had thought perhaps she had taken them to an unknown den, and perhaps she did, but today she was with at least three kits at the third den. The kits have grown a lot over the past month, nearly the size of the mother, but they retain the babyish face - shorter and thicker snout, downier pelage.
